  • 250gm kath scrape outer skin cut into 1/4″ thick rounds
  • 1 large onion finely chopped
  • 1 large tomato finely chopped
  • 1 green chilli finely chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tsp amchoor
  • 4-5 tbsp oil to shallow fry


Sprinkle 1/2 tsp salt on karela slices and keep asides for 1/2 hour. Squeeze the kath well. Heat 4-5tbsp oil in a kadhai and shallow fry kath till brown. Drain on kitchen paper and keep a non stick pan, heat 1 tbsp oil, add onion saute for 4-5 minutes till they turn pink. Add tomato and green chilli and cook for 3-4 minutes. Add salt and all masalas.Add kath. Mix for 5 minutes on low flame. Add garam masala and remove from fire. Serve
