  • 1/2 kg chicken
  • 4 medium sized onions
  • 1 inch piece ginger
  • 4 flakes garlic
  • 4 medium sized potatoes
  • 1.5 heaped tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 heaped tsp chilli powder
  • 6 green chillies
  • 2.5 cup sour curd
  • Salt to taste


Grind the garlic, ginger and onions to a paste. Divide this paste into 2 portions. Peel the potatoes and cut them into halves. Cut the chicken into serving portions. Thoroughly mix the chicken and potatoes with one half of the paste using 1 tablespoon oil and 2 teaspoon salt. Heat 4 tablespoon oil in the open pan and fry the remaining half of the paste in it for 10 minutes, using a low fire. Add the chicken and potatoes with paste an fry another 10 minutes. Pour 3.5 cups of water into the pan, and 2.5 teaspoon of salt and close the pan. Pressure cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
