Ingredients

  • FOR KOFTAS:
  • 4 potatoes; boiled and mashed
  • 1 cup spinach chopped finely
  • 1 cup coriander leaves chopped finely
  • 1/2 cup fenugreek leaves chopped finely
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • FOR THE GRAVY:
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • GRIND TOGETHER:
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tbsp cashew nuts
  • 4 green chilies
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds
  • 1 inch (2 1/2 cm) ginger piece
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 cup curd
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp gram flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cream
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves

Directions

Mix the potatoes with the spinach, coriander leaves, fenugreek leaves, garam masala powder and salt to taste, lemon juice and flour.Mix well and divide into small balls.Deep fry till golden brown and place in a serving dish.Fry the ground paste in oil lightly.Add turmeric, curd mixed with milk, flour and salt.Cook till the gravy is thick over medium heat – for 7 minutes.Finally add cream.Pour the gravy on top of the koftas and sprinkle coriander leaves.Serve with hot parathas.
